Xuzhou was called Pengcheng inancient times and was one of the nine cities in Huaxia (the ancient name for China). It has 5000 thousand years of civilization history and 2500 years of city building history. The whole city covers an area of 11258km2 with apopulation of 10.2352 million.

A large number of Terra-Cotta Warriors of Han Dynasty are unearthed in Xuzhou.
Facing with the complex domestic and oversea economic environment, Xuzhou adheres to the overall working tone of making process while maintaining stability. According to primary accounting and the confirmation of the provincial Statistical Bureau, the whole city realized a regional GDP of 531.988 billion Yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 9.5% according to the calculation of comparable prices.
